Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of CondorBox products and services provided by Chicha Technology LLC ("Chicha Technology," "we," "us," or "our"). By purchasing, installing, or using CondorBox software, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the product. Please read them carefully.
1. Product Description
1.1 What CondorBox Is
CondorBox is private AI software for Apple Silicon Macs. It includes local large language models (LLMs), a voice assistant, smart home automation, security monitoring, DNS filtering, and family safety tools. All AI processing and data storage occurs on your hardware, on your local network.
1.2 Delivery Models
CondorBox is available in two forms:
- Software subscription. CondorBox software installed on your own compatible Apple Silicon Mac via a monthly or annual subscription. This is the standard offering for all consumer and small business customers.
- Enterprise hardware installation. For enterprise customers, Chicha Technology can provide on-site installation and configuration of CondorBox on customer-provided or customer-purchased Apple Silicon hardware. Contact us for enterprise pricing.
1.3 Tiers
CondorBox is available in four tiers (Starter, Family, Pro, Max), each with different hardware specifications, included AI models, and feature sets. Tier details and pricing are listed at condorbox.ai/pricing.
2. Software License
2.1 License Grant
Subject to these Terms, Chicha Technology grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use CondorBox software on a single Apple Silicon Mac for personal or household use (consumer tiers) or small business use (Business tier).
2.2 Subscriptions
Your software license is active only while your subscription is current. Subscription pricing:
- Starter: $14/month ($139/year)
- Family: $24/month ($239/year)
- Pro: $39/month ($389/year)
- Max: $59/month ($589/year)
If your subscription lapses, CondorBox software will continue to operate on your hardware but will no longer receive software updates.
2.3 Enterprise Installations
Enterprise hardware installation engagements are governed by a separate enterprise agreement. Software licensing for enterprise installations follows the same subscription model described above unless otherwise specified in writing.
2.4 License Restrictions
You may not:
- Sublicense, resell, rent, lease, or lend the software or access to it.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble proprietary CondorBox components (this restriction does not apply to open-source components, which are governed by their respective licenses).
- Circumvent, disable, or tamper with license verification mechanisms.
- Use the software to operate a commercial hosting service or resell access to the AI models to third parties.
- Install a single license on more than one device simultaneously.
2.5 Ownership
You own your hardware. Chicha Technology retains all right, title, and interest in the CondorBox software, including proprietary configuration scripts, branding, and custom integrations. Open-source components remain under their respective licenses. Content you generate using CondorBox is yours.
3. Purchases and Payment
- All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to applicable sales tax based on your shipping or billing address.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
- 30-day money-back guarantee. You may request a full refund of your software subscription within 30 days of initial purchase, for any reason. After 30 days, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period with no partial-month refund.
4. Subscription Services
4.1 Support Plans
CondorBox includes two support tiers:
- Condor Care (free) — Email support, knowledge base, community forum, all software updates.
- Condor Care+ ($9/month or $89/year) — Priority email, scheduled video call support, remote diagnostics via Tailscale (opt-in), fleet health monitoring.
Support plans are billed monthly or annually at the rate specified at purchase. Prices may change with 30 days' written notice. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
4.2 Custom AI Training
Fine-tuning services are one-time engagements priced based on model size and compute usage. Training data you provide remains your property and is deleted from our cloud infrastructure after model delivery. See Section 8.5 for IP ownership details.
4.3 Post-Cancellation
After cancellation of any subscription (whether voluntary or involuntary), your CondorBox continues to operate with all locally installed software and data intact. You retain full use of all on-device features. You will no longer receive software updates, priority support, or remote troubleshooting.
5. Data Privacy
5.1 Core Promise
Your personal data stays on your hardware and never leaves your home network unless you explicitly opt in to a cloud feature. We have no technical ability to access your AI conversations, voice recordings, files, passwords, smart home data, or browsing history.
5.2 Exceptions — Cloud Features Requiring Consent
- Fleet monitoring (Care+ subscribers): Your unit sends system health metrics (CPU, RAM, disk usage, service status, software version) to our fleet dashboard when connected via Tailscale. No personal data is transmitted.
- Remote support sessions: Only when you explicitly enable Tailscale access. Sessions are logged, and you can revoke access at any time.
- Cloud portal: Your email, name, and purchase history are stored in our cloud backend (Firebase) for account management.
- Software updates: Your unit checks for signed update manifests. The update check transmits your unit ID, software version, and tier. No personal data.
5.3 Automatic Updates
CondorBox delivers software updates via cryptographically signed manifests (minisign). Updates are checked and applied automatically by default. You may disable automatic updates at any time through the system panel.

6. Software Guarantee
- Chicha Technology provides a 90-day software warranty covering defects in the CondorBox software configuration present at installation.
- The software warranty does not cover issues caused by customer modifications, third-party software, hardware failures, or upstream open-source software bugs.
- Your Apple Silicon Mac hardware is covered by Apple's standard warranty. For hardware issues, contact Apple directly or visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

7. AI Content Disclaimer
- AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. You should independently verify any important information before relying on it.
- AI responses are not a substitute for professional advice, including but not limited to medical, legal, financial, or engineering advice.
- You are solely responsible for how you use AI-generated content. Chicha Technology is not liable for decisions made or actions taken based on AI output.
- AI models may produce different results over time as software is updated.
8. Intellectual Property
- The CondorBox brand, logo, and proprietary software components are owned by Chicha Technology LLC.
- Open-source software included with CondorBox is licensed under their respective open-source licenses (Apache 2.0, MIT, BSD, ISC, MPL 2.0, and others). A list of included software and their licenses is available on the unit at
/opt/condor/licenses/. - AI models are licensed under their respective model licenses (Apache 2.0, MIT, Llama Community License). Models with "Llama" in the name are subject to Meta's Llama Community License Agreement.
- Content you generate using CondorBox is yours. We claim no ownership of your AI conversations, files, or any other user-created content.
- Custom model IP ownership. If you purchase a fine-tuning service: (a) training data you provide remains your property and is deleted from our systems after model delivery; (b) the resulting fine-tuned model weights are delivered to your unit and become your property; (c) Chicha Technology retains no copies of your custom model after delivery; (d) the underlying base model remains under its original open-source license; (e) you may not redistribute the fine-tuned model commercially without separate written agreement.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use CondorBox to:
- Generate, store, or distribute illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that violates intellectual property rights, or content that facilitates illegal activity.
- Circumvent, disable, or tamper with safety features, content filters, parental controls, or access restrictions configured on the unit.
- Use the unit as part of a commercial hosting service, resell access to the AI models, or operate the unit as a public-facing server without our written authorization.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer proprietary CondorBox software (excluding open-source components governed by their respective licenses).
Violation of these terms may result in termination of your support subscription and voidance of your software warranty. Because your data is local, we have no technical ability to monitor your usage — but violations reported or discovered during support sessions will be acted upon.
10. Children (COPPA Compliance)
- CondorBox is designed for use by families, including households with children. Children's accounts can be created with parental controls and kid-safe content filtering (CondorKids).
- All children's AI interactions, voice processing, and DNS filtering are processed and stored entirely on-device. No data about children is transmitted to Chicha Technology or any third party.
- The cloud customer portal account (email and payment) must be maintained by an adult (age 18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our website or cloud services.
- A parent or guardian must consent to the creation of children's accounts on the CondorBox unit.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CHICHA TECHNOLOGY LLC'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF CONDORBOX PRODUCTS AND SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SPECIFIC PRODUCT OR SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
IN NO EVENT SHALL CHICHA TECHNOLOGY LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, WHETHER ARISING FROM CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY, AND YOU MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES SET FORTH IN SECTION 6 (SOFTWARE GUARANTEE), CONDORBOX PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
13. Termination
- By you. You may stop using CondorBox at any time. If you have an active subscription, you may cancel it as described in Section 4.
- By us. We may terminate or suspend your access to support services and software updates if you materially breach these Terms. We will provide written notice and a 30-day opportunity to cure before termination, except in cases of illegal activity.
- Effect of termination. Upon termination, your CondorBox continues to operate with all locally installed software and data intact. You will no longer receive updates or support.
14. Dispute Resolution
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
- Informal resolution. Before filing any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at legal@condorbox.ai and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
- Binding arbitration. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures. The arbitration shall be conducted in California. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
- Class action waiver. You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
- Small claims exception. Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdictional limits.
15. Third-Party Trademarks
Mac Studio is a trademark of Apple Inc. Chicha Technology LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. "Llama" is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. All other trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced herein are the property of their respective owners.
16. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' written notice via email to your account address before the changes take effect. Continued use of CondorBox after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
Non-material changes (such as clarifications or formatting updates) may be made without prior notice. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
17. General Provisions
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Warranty page, and any applicable subscription or service agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Chicha Technology LLC regarding CondorBox.
- Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
- Force majeure. Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, or government actions.
